We hate to say it, but school is starting soon and the summer season is coming to an end. But there’s still plenty of fun to be had here in Northern Michigan this month.

Boyne City Pirate Party
The Boyne City Pirate Festival kicks off its nine-day celebration on Saturday August 6th and you can check it out until August 14th in Boyne City. You’ll find live music, a pirate parade, costume contests and plenty of pirate-themed family entertainment. They’ll crown their PirateFest Queen on the 11th, and you can also take part in the flo-till-a invasion on August 12 at Sunset Park in Boyne City. Michaywe Arts and Crafts Fair
Head to Gaylord for the 43rd Annual Michaywe Arts & Crafts Fair on Friday and Saturday August 12 and 13. The Michaywe Clubhouse and its park-like woodland setting serve as the backdrop for the fair, which will feature crafts, decor, artwork and more. of more than 100 exhibitors. The event will also offer a free children’s zone on both days, so that the little ones can also enjoy fun activities.
Bellaire Chamber of Commerce – Rubber Duck Festival
The Bellaire Chamber of Commerce will host the 35th Annual Rubber Duck Festival August 18-20! This festival offers fun for all the family including Paddle Antrim Community Paddle, Grand Parade and of course the Rubber Ducky Race on August 20th. There’s plenty of fun and entertainment going on throughout the weekend, including plenty of free activities, and you’ll want to be sure to check it out.
