This bird was purchased from a local market as a Black Manorcan Bantam hen as a bride for "Albert" (see Whatton Monarch II) whose mate had gone "broody". As the months progressed she grew to 4 times the size of her intended husband.
Later it became clear she was not only not a Bantam but also not a she.
The chicken vendor we never saw again! Albert also disappeared later.
